Warkentin Prize – PRSSS
Annually, the PRSSS accepts nominations and applications for the Warkentin Prize. The Warkentin Prize of $500 will be awarded to a student, or someone who has graduated within the last two years, that has published a peer-reviewed article in the field of soil science.

BC Institute of Agrologists Scholarship
The BC Institute of Agrologists (BCIA) is a regulatory body which establishes standards for the competent and ethical practice of agrology in BC. To support future agrologists in achieving their career in agrology, the BCIA supports two students with $1500 scholarships each year. Applicants must submit an essay that answers the question: What does Agrology mean to you?

Elizabeth Henry Scholarship for Communities and Environmental Health

Karl C. Ivarson Scholarship for Students in Soil Science and Related Studies
This Scholarship was created by Dr. Karl C. Ivarson through a gift to the Agricultural Institute of Canada Foundation, now CFFAE. Dr. Ivarson’s wish was to provide financial support to a student(s) entering second or subsequent years of graduate studies in soil science (in areas of agriculture, agro-ecology, resource management, environment, geology or other related disciplines) at a recognized Canadian university.

Dr. Karl C. Ivarson Agricultural Scholarship
This scholarship was created by Dr. Karl C. Ivarson through a bequest to the Agricultural Institute of Canada Foundation, now CFFAE. In establishing this award, Dr. Ivarson wished to support students from his home province of Alberta in their pursuit of studies in agricultural sciences. The first scholarships were awarded in 2013. The Ivarson Agricultural Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic achievement, areas of study, community Involvement, career Interests and letters of recommendation.

CABEF Scholarship
CABEF awards seven $2,500 scholarships annually to full-time students enrolling or currently in an agricultural related program at a Canadian university, college or apprenticeship institution. These scholarships are funded through generous donations from agri-business and people involved in the agricultural and food industry.

Ian Paton Sr. Memorial Scholarship – Agriculture
One $2000 scholarship will be awarded annually in memory of Ian Paton Sr. and his contribution to the 4-H program in BC. This scholarship will be awarded to a student pursuing post-secondary education in Agriculture and who has a background in agriculture.
The application deadline is April 15 annually.
4-H British Columbia Foundation Scholarship
One $1000 award for use at University, Technical, or Vocational School in any field of study.

Holstein Canada Young Leader Scholarship
Since the 1950s, Holstein Canada has played a role in applauding young adults in their higher educational successes. Each year, Holstein Canada recognizes and awards students who are well rounded in their farm involvement; work experience; youth program involvement; future career choices; and excel in their academic studies. Six (6) successful students from across Canada (one student from the west; two from Ontario; two from Quebec; and one from Atlantic Canada) will be awarded $1,000 each as recognition of their achievements.

WestGen’s Education Awards are available to post-secondary students from Western Canada who are pursuing studies in agriculture or veterinary medicine. Applicants must be a WestGen member or son/daughter of a WestGen member. They offer four $2,000 awards each fall.

NSERC Undergraduate Student Research Awards
USRAs are meant to nurture your interest and fully develop your potential for a research career in the natural sciences and engineering. They are also meant to encourage you to undertake graduate studies in these fields. If you would like to gain research work experience that complements your studies in an academic setting, these awards can provide you with financial support through your host institution. NSERC encourages qualified Indigenous students to apply for this award.

NSERC Canada Graduate Scholarships
The objective of the Canada Graduate Scholarships – Master’s (CGS M) program is to help develop research skills and assist in the training of highly qualified personnel by supporting students who demonstrate a high standard of achievement in undergraduate and early graduate studies. There are up to 3000 non-renewable scholarships of $17,500 offered for 12 months.
