APBI 496 Practicum with Wildlife SOS India | 2019 Winter Session

The Faculty of Land and Food Systems, Applied Biology Program, is excited to partner with Wildlife SOS India to offer a new one-month practicum for students at the Agra Sloth Bear Rescue Facility and Elephant Conservation and Care Centre starting in January 2020. The new Applied Biology Animal Practicum (APBI 496) location is supported by Adjunct Professor Dr. Sara Dubois and applications are now open!

The practicum will involve hands-on experience working at both bear and elephant sanctuary locations, learning husbandry, animal behaviour, ethics, and medical care of rescued animals in permanent captivity. The experiential learning opportunity will also offer students to gain knowledge of local Indian culture and traditions.

Cost: UBC 6-credit tuition fee + Wildlife SOS location fee ($2800CAD including accommodations and food); flights, visa, vaccines, insurance; travel incidentals
