Want to upgrade your financial literacy? Financial Literacy for Youth (FLY at UBC) is an AMS club that believes literacy isn’t adequately taught in either high school or at UBC. Their goal is to raise awareness about financial literacy to all university students and that financial literacy applies to everyone no matter what faculty they are in and what career they are pursuing!

•The David Thompson Community School Team is looking for 4-7 students interested in nutrition and cooking to contribute to after-school programs in the Victoria Fraserview community. You will work with school staff 4-6 hours per week to develop and deliver their after school cooking program for elementary aged students.
•Grandview ¿uuqinak’uuh Elementary, designated an inner-city Earth Program School, is looking for 2-4 UBC students to work with teachers and UBC-CLI staff to develop and deliver lesson plans related to the Earth School Program. Lessons will be delivered through field trips and revolve around soil science, habitat, and renewable and non-renewable resources.

Samantha is a new addition to the LFS Blog team. She is the LFS Student Services Undergrad Assistant, hired part-time under the Work Learn Program for the 2013 Winter Session.
