RE: English 301 Professional Writing Team

Dear Taylor,

Thank you for your expressed interest to collaborate with me. After reviewing your application, I would like to accept your extended invitation. I agree that we possess complementary skills needed to succeed in this course.

As a student “nearing the finish line” of their degree, with a Major in History and minor in English, I believe that your technical writing skills would be quite strong. Something I may have excluded from my application is that  I too have experience in the restaurant industry, and therefore appreciate the skills learned in such an industry. I agree that it takes a strong work ethic with sharp attention to detail to be able to work within the restaurant industry. In my experience, managers require determination, grit, and strong leadership skills. Although, I was most impressed with your ability to “tackle” both a full-time job and pursuing further education. Not only do I believe that this reinforces the skills listed above but shows time-management skills as well. In addition to having a complimentary skillset, I believe that our learning philosophies are similar as we both believe that keeping an open-mind can result in the creation of new skill sets.

I look forward to working together in the future. If you have any further questions, I can be contacted at liyahslager@gmail.com. For your reference, I have attached my Application Letter below.

Sincerely,

Lia Slager

Have a day! 🙂

Subject: English 301 Professional Writing Team

Dear Alisa,

I am pleased to extend you an offer to join the writing team Last but Not Least, as I feel your academic experience and enthusiasm will be an asset to our team. Unfortunately, as the name suggests, the team is composed of a few members who may have been “late to the party”, and therefore have some catching up to do. However, I am sure that if you accept this offer, in due time, you will find that we as a group are certainly not the “least” of team players. I am more than confident, that together, we will be up to date on all our assignments within a weeks time. This opportunity promises a strong team dynamic, growth in your technical writing skills, as well as the option to work remotely every day (hello flexibility!). You may find it interesting that our writing team, is currently working on assignments such as writing and peer reviewing technical definitions.

I look forward to your response. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or inquiries, you can reach me at liyahslager@gmail.com. For your review, I have attached my Letter of Application to this email.

Sincerely,

Lia Slager

Have a day! 🙂
