Methods were adapted from Tu et al. (2020) and Lab 1 from GEOB 479. Tu et al. (2020)  quantitatively described land use change in Chinese megacities by calculating cropland loss, urban expansion, and then overlaying the two layers to identify where urbanization directly caused cropland loss. Lab 1 provided the code and steps needed to produce a transition matrix.
