This Blog was created when I was a Teacher Candidate and I will continue to update the blog as I Teach. I view the profession of Teaching is a gift. I get to give students knowledge as they become life-long learners and I receive my own learning from student and teachers.
Welcome to Inquiry 452A
Ever wonder what it is like to be a student in the Bachelor of Education program at the University of British Columbia?
This E-portfolio is a critical reflection of my 12 month journey in the Middle Years, self-regulation cohort with a specialty in science.
The purpose of this e-portfolio is designed to provide me the opportunity to reconsider, reflect upon, and represent their own learning experiences (in the teacher education program) in light of a critical engagement with what it means to be a professional and to be engaged in a profession. The creation and presentation of a portfolio allow myself as teacher candidates to demonstrate:
- a growing awareness of commitments and responsibilities to the profession, self and others, and the associated tensions therein;
- an increasing willingness to identify and address (in light of their developing knowledge and practice) the tension between a system of schooling and an education; and
- a developing ability to engage thoughtfully in practice, to raise critical questions and wonder ‘out loud’ about an individual and collective professional future.
