Formal Report

The Formal Analytical Report was an opportunity for us to collect and analyze our own research in order to solve what we view as a problem within our workplace or immediate environment on campus. This was a lengthy process, creating surveys, collecting documents, and analyzing large groups of numbers.
I chose the topic of Improving Nightlife, Event, and Party Culture Practices on UBC’s Vancouver Point Grey Campus because I am currently involved in party culture on campus. As a director on The Calendar, I am involved in hosting events and parties on campus all the time. Within the last 18 months, our team has been making large changes in how we host our events in order to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all attending, putting a strong focus on sexualized violence prevention. However, The Calendar isn’t the only group on campus hosting events of this nature, and we all play an important role in creating a consent culture on campus. I wanted to investigate what other teams on campus are doing in hopes of getting all nightlife event host groups on campus educated and executing safe practices towards this goal of safe spaces for all.
I am extremely proud of what I was able to accomplish with this report. Enjoy.
