Sexual Assault Awareness Month

After SAAM

Are you interested in learning more about the issue of sexual assault? Do you want to continue your commitment to ending rape culture?

Sexual violence sadly does not end with SAAM. Fortunately, there are a number of ways that you can continue the work to end all sexual violence:

  • Make SAAM a yearly commitment! Add SAAM to your January calendar for next year and get your student club or community involved in hosting an event.
  • Take a course to learn more about issues of violence and gender discrimination. Check out the Violence Intervention and Prevention Connector for course suggestions.
  • Write regularly about gender and violence issues on your blog, facebook, twitter, or website.
  • Volunteer at a support organization. See Campus Services and Community Resources for suggestions.
  • Read some books and online resources and check out the variety of anti-violence activism around the world. See Learning More (in progress)
  • Become a Really? Active Witnessing facilitator
  • Consider joining the SAAM Advisory Committee next year. Contact women.students@ubc.ca for more information.

Together we can end sexual violence!
