Sexual Assault Awareness Month

The University of British Columbia

Partner Options

Why should you get involved?

To make UBC campus a safe and inclusive space for everyone, we need to change the attitudes and culture that make sexual assault possible. Sexual assaults happen much more frequently than we would like to think, and it impacts all of us in different ways. Therefore we need to come together in changing our communities.

How can you get involved?

There are three different ways for your campus group/club/organization to get involved in SAAM. You can become a Promotional Partner, Events Partner, or Special Events Partner. Detailed options for the different partner levels are listed below:

Promotional Partner – Options

  • Social media (blogging, tweeting, facebook)
  • Placing posters
  • Email events and resources to your friends and networks

Events Partner – Options

  • Advertise a regularly scheduled activity as a SAAM event
  • Organize an internal activity for a specific group of people (e.g. your student club, your class, staff/faculty in your office; your floor in residence)
  • Open a pre-existing, regular activity to the wider campus community
  • Incorporate SAAM into your class activities through discussion or SAAM-related class assignments and activities

Special Events Partner  – Options

Organize a special event for SAAM for one of the following groups:

  • All students
  • All faculty and/or staff
  • All students, faculty, and staff

Once you have decided your level of commitment, please fill out our SAAM 2014 Partner Form and email to women.students@ubc.ca . You can also email us any questions you might have – we are happy to discuss your event proposal with you!
