Doomed.

Have you ever had the feeling, while looking at the learning goals and final review materials for a class, that you’re totally, unequivocally screwed?

… I didn’t, until now. There is a very real possibility I’m going to fail my CS322 exam tomorrow and I feel horrible. :( :( :(

  1. Yeah I get that too =(

I tried talking to some “smart kids” about their mentalities when they go into a test and I found out the major difference is that they are confident… yunno of course, that’s easy for them because they’re the smart kids. However, believe that you know the stuff you do know, because I’m sure you know something. Whether or not that is enough to pass is a different thing but all you can do for yourself at this is to do your best. So don’t do less any less than that! (Oh my, so cheesy) That’s what I tell myself anyway… I don’t know my marks yet but it makes me feel better for the moment…

    GOOD LUCK!!!

  2. Hey Paulina! :D

I agree that confidence is a major factor. I know that in all of the classes I’ve done super well in compared to the ones I’ve done mediocre in, the difference is that I go into the exam feeling sure in what I know, even if the differences between what I *actually* know, or how much work I’ve put in, may be negligible.

But, you made a really good point about believing you know the stuff you do know. I’ve never actually thought about it that way before and it’s SO true. Worrying and doubting can *only* bring your grades lower, and stress you out. It’s so unhealthy. I wish it was easier to implement for real, though. :)

Thanks for the good luck wishes too!!

  3. =( did not proofread previous comment… so many missed words and extra words….

  4. That was me for my immunology exam–screwed.

I hope it went better than expected?

  5. Hi Tyler. :) I think it did go better than expected, though this is a tricky class. For example, on the midterm I thought that I had easily gotten at least an A… but it was not the case. :/ Same with everyone else in the class. Fingers crossed for scaling!

I hope that your exams went ok too!
