Sauder Studios

Our studios are equipped with cutting-edge technology for you to record asynchronous teaching videos using:

  • Lightboards
  • LOFT screens
  • Greenscreens

All studios can connect your laptop to display slides or programs (e.g., Tableau). We also support iPads, document cameras, and other HDMI devices. Teleprompters are available with advance notice (requires two technicians) to let you read your script while looking directly at the camera.

When using the green screen, avoid wearing any shade of green to ensure proper background replacement. You can view sample recordings from the LOFT, Green Screen, and Lightboard studios for inspiration.

If you need loaner laptops, clickers, or adapters, note this in your booking. If bringing your own equipment, let us know so we can ensure compatibility. Our team will work with you to set up the right technology for your project.

Before recording, we’ll run a quick audio test. We’ll count you in for each take, and if there’s a mistake, you’ll simply repeat from the previous sentence. Recordings use multiple audio and video backups, and delivery is usually within two weeks.

To book, email help@sauder.ubc.ca and indicate your preferred studio. If you’re unsure which is best, you can schedule a tour to try each space. First-time users are encouraged to book a short practice session.

The video below offers a quick overview of all three technologies and their implementation at Sauder.
