Types of Traps

Flypaper traps – traps prey using a sticky mucilage (glue) produced by glands studded on the leaves

Snap traps – traps prey with rapid leaf movements – less than one second!.  The leaves form two-lobes with sensitive hairs inside

Pitfall traps (pitcher plants) – traps prey in a rolled leaf that contains a pool of digestive enzymes

Bladder traps – sucks in prey into a bladder
