Oral/Listening Exercises: It´s come to my attention that some people are having trouble completing the listening lab portion of the Ilearn due to software issues. You need to have the latest edition of Adobe Flash Player downloaded and enable access to your microphone and speakers. If that doesn´t work, send me an e-mail and we can work something out.

On Friday, in the first half our of class we are going to have a short writing/listening quiz worth 5% of your grade. The topics will be based on the activity questions in Chapter 2 and the grammar we have covered up to and including the use of definite and indefinite articles.

The format will include FIVE long answer questions which I will dictate, you will write down and then answer with 15-25 word full sentence answers. Please note you will not be marked on the dictation part, only on your answers.
To get full marks, you must provide a grammatically correct answer to the question as well as add extra information. Answers that simply repeat the material in the question will only get 80%
These questions are similar to the weekly blog writing questions I provide and are based on the grammar and topics in Chapter 2 (Politics, Nationality, Descriptions using “Ser and Estar”, Relationships using indirect and direct object pronouns, ideas using definite articles.)
To get an idea of what might be asked, you can review the conversation questions on pages 42 (activities 5 and 6) 52 (activity 12), 53 (activity 16) 57 (activity 21) 59 (activity 25).

Ilearn: Cumplan los ejercicios solicitados sobre ser y estar y los posesivos para el día 21 de septiembre. (Ojo: Si un ejercicio aparece como “asignado” y no tiene fecha límite, Ustedes no tienen que hacerlo. Ilearn deja todos los ejercicios “asignados” automáticamente como “default setting” y a veces no alcanzo cambiarlo)
Blog: En la sección de comentarios describan una persona especial en su vida, puede ser pariente, compañero, amigo o pareja. Usa 3 verbos ser y 3 estar. Esto también es para el 21 de septiembre.
