Hello! This site will be my platform to share what I learn as I dive into the world of remote sensing for my MSc thesis.

Previously I worked as an environmental consultant in Kelowna, B.C. and before that a fisheries technician in the mountain national parks in B.C. and Alberta.

I am currently pursuing my MSc at the University of British Columbia, Okanagan where I aim to create a predictive wetland map in the Okanagan basin using LiDAR and other remote sensing data. I should mention that R, GIS and remote sensing are all new fields for me and my posts will reflect my learning journey.

When I’m not coding, I’m skiing or biking as I live in the best place for it – Nelson, BC. If you want to learn more about me, you can check out my CV here. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions! kdeenik@student.ubc.ca.
