Sand Table

Introduction

A sand table in its most basic sense, consist of a box filled with sand, a scanner and projector. The box represents the extents of a site and the sand represents landform. The landform is scanned and the information is processed and then projected onto the surface.

When designing a sand table, there are numerous software options to choose from. The video below showcases the possibilities of software called Processing. If Rhino and Grasshopper is more your style, then there is also a download link in the "Tools" section that perfroms the same tasks.
