This particular pamphlet entitled “Doukhobors: Excerpt from Premier W. A. C. Bennett’s Policy Speech, Given in the Legislature, September 18th, 1953,” is part of a larger collection of archival material on the Doukhobors, available in the Rare Books and Special Collections library at The University of British Columbia. The collection that was the basis of this blog’s research is An Inventory of the Doukhobor Files: Collected by Maria Horvath (Krisztinkovich), for the University of British Columbia, and held in the Special Collections Division, by Helen Prior, in 1980. This collation consists of a 92 page list of files on the Doukhobors. In all, there are over 450 files all on the history of the Doukhobors, covering their beginnings in Russia, their persecution there, their immigration to Canada, and the conflicts they have encountered while in this country. The Doukhobor collection at UBC’s RBSC is expansive, including written texts such as scholarly articles, letters, surveys, psychological studies, books, videos newspaper articles, government reports, photographs and more.
