Unfortunately, Nothing Bad Has Happened To Me Recently

…so I have no amusing stories to tell. I like all my classes, I watched Maze Runner with Anna and company last night, and I discovered the best chocolate chip cookies in the UK at Lidl, the grocery store around the corner (“Big on quality, Lidl on price,” although the catch is the forty minutes you stand in line with your 49-pence cookie while the twelve people ahead of you unload bulk shopping carts onto the checkout belt).

The good news is that it’s Friday and I have two whole days for field trips. I’m thinking tomorrow is going to be the day to hike to St. Fagans, the open-air museum that has been described as the Colonial Williamsburg of Wales.

Since I have nothing better to offer, here are some pictures for you.

This one is one of the buildings on campus, but I think it’s a municipal building rather than a university one (it’s across from the city hall and also it looks too nice for students). My working theory is that the clock in that tower is the one that goes BONG BONG BONG BONG dee-daa-doo-dee every hour when I’m trying to get to sleep.

This is another building on campus. Gotta love the Edwardian imitation-Georgians.

This is the 13th-century cathedral. More importantly, it is a very tall thing sticking up in the air that you can see from a long way away, so if ever you’re lost and hungry, you can always find your way to Cardiff Market.

This is some sort of World War I monument (I think—the uniforms on the statues look like the right era, and look, there’s poppies). There’s a winged angel on the top of the pedestal, but I couldn’t fit that and the poppy wreathes in one shot.

I promise I will do something stupid and incompetent tomorrow for the sake of a more interesting blog post.
