My experience at the Burnaby HUB Alternate School was a revelation on my own teaching perspective.  The individualized learning approach adopted and inherent in our curriculum pedagogy really has its place in the alternate setting.  In a regular classroom of 30 students for example, the ability of the educator to cater to the needs of the many learners in the class becomes challenged.  However, in the alternate setting, the sheer limited numbers of students allows each educator to reach the educational requirements more easily.  I realized at the HUB that this was where my educational “home” was to be found.
