On one fateful night after studying for their GIS final at Calhoun’s, three geography students found themselves amidst a zombie apocalypse. Rushing out of the café to assess the chaos, they were met with abandoned cars, screaming voices, and the walking dead quickly advancing towards them. The students hastily mounted their bikes, and fled the scene. In the hypothetical event of a zombie apocalypse, this project aims to identify the safest routes that each project partner should take to get home from Calhoun’s coffee shop. This project will draw upon zombie lore from The Zombie Survival Guide by Max Brooks to model and predict the spread of the zombie virus within the City of Vancouver.
