Lab 2 – Geographically Weighted Regression

Lab 2 explored the uses of Ordinary Least Squares regression (OLS) and Geographically Weighted Regression (GWR). The methods allows us to see the relationship strength between two or more variables. In this lab, I analyzed the variables that were considered to impact the social and learning abilities of children in Vancouver. I looked at how gender (male and female), income of families and language is compared to the social skills of children in different neighbourhoods.

Exploratory regression was used to assess the relevance of the independent variables in ArcMap. Grouping analysis was conducted dividing four categories based on enumeration areas showing similar characteristics.
