The Behavioral Science of Changing Climate Culture
Erik Thulin
Rare
Household behavior accounts for a substantial portion of global CO2e emissions. However, program and policy solutions commonly neglect our understanding of human psychology and behavior. This talk will share a series of studies executed by the Center for Behavior & the Environment within the environmental non-profit Rare to support the development and launch of the Climate Culture program designed to increase the adoption of high-impact climate-friendly behaviors across the United States.
The UBC-DIBS Behavioural Insights Seminar series features researchers and practitioners sharing their field and lab projects using the behavioural and decision sciences to “nudge for good”. Recordings of past seminars are available on the BI wiki here. To subscribe or unsubscribe, email dibs@sauder.ubc.ca.
