It is reaching the end of April 2016. That means we will be having an election to select new executive members for the CHBE Graduate Student Council.

The positions which will be elected are President, Secretary, VP Academic, VP Social, VP Sports and VP Communications.

Join the conversation, speak out, and stand up against sexual assault and harassment. You can help end the violence.
Not On My Campus is a one-day conference that engages graduate students on the issues of sexual assault and harassment awareness, regardless of gender.
Join us for a movie screening of Brave Miss Worldand a discussion with the film director on the trials faced by survivors and the support needed for them to speak out.
A panel discussion follows in the afternoon on UBC’s own campus resources for services, support, and accessibility to stay safe, spread awareness, and support victims through their time of need.

A seminar by Dr. Elicia Maine
Canada has an excellent record in invention, but struggles with innovation. In particular, scientific inventions of a radical, generic nature, with high potential economic and social value, can languish in the lab because of prolonged uncertainty and high commercialization costs. Drawing on her research in the advanced materials, nanotech, biotech, and clean tech sectors, Professor Maine will offer commercialization strategies for scientist-entrepreneurs.

A founding coordinator for New Ventures BC, Dr. Maine holds a PhD in Technology Management from Cambridge University and master’s degrees in Technology & Policy and Materials Engineering from MIT.
