Best Work

Please find below some of the best work I have accomplished throughout English 301 in the order they were completed. I have also provided comments about how each assignment has contributed to my progress, from the beginning of the term, to completing a formal report.

  1. Definitions Assignment: This was valuable towards the upcoming assignments that were to be completed as the clarity required in each definition illustrated the importance of explaining terms that my peers may not be familiar with.
  2. Email Memorandum to Evan Crisp: The email memorandum was great practice of using the You-Attitude and how to improve the professionalism of our emails while giving suggestions.
  3. Formal Report Proposal: The proposal initiated my writing process for the formal report, allowing me to brainstorm through various plausible topics.
  4. Progress Report for Formal Report : The progress report kept me on track for the research and data collection process that is required for my formal report. By using a timeline to illustrate how I plan to accomplish each task, I was able to follow my plan throughout the writing process.
  5. Peer Review of LinkedIn Profile: Since I have never had a LinkedIn profile prior to English 301, the peer review process allowed me to see how effective an online platform can be for professionally connecting with others. Reviewing my peer’s profile offered great insight towards engaging designs and how the profile can be further improved.
  6. Complaint Letter and Bad News Adjustment Letter: Writing the complaint letter was fairly challenging because a stern tone must be used while maintaining professionalism. Focusing on aspects of the You-Attitude was helpful to ensure that I was effectively communicating my perspective of the situation.
  7. Peer Review of Formal Report: The peer review process was rewarding because I learned different ways I could improve the format and conciseness fo my report, which I had initially struggled with. Reading my peer’s paper also provided me with insight on mistakes in my paper I had not previously seen.
