Recently, HP has just bought Samsung’s $1bn printer business so as to improve his own printing technology and to ameliorate its original technology towards customers’ demand. While analysing the business canvas model, key partner and customer segment determine a large part of the structure of a company. Overall, why do HP choose this time period and what can HP gain? What will HP gain if it specifies the customer segments?images

In my perspective, since Samsung is recently in trouble with its risk-exploding Note7 that causes a 9% fell of the company, HP has chosen an optimum time period to purchase this printer business. “HP has been a valued partner and customer of Samsung.” Dr. Oh-Hyun Kwon said. The business cooperation enhances their partnership and helps HP get rid of the complex, outdate and inefficient printing service. The qualitative leap offers HP the increasing revenue and attractions among customers. As we see, the partnership enhances the flexibility in good service and shares technology which solves the problems in limited resources.

Moreover, as the article has mentioned that HP was separated into 2 partial companies 10 months ago. Each of the separated company targets different customer segments and focuses on different aspects. The specialisation in different aspects is accord with various demand of customers. Also, with the help of new printer business from Samsung, HP can innovate more business opportunities that serves a more efficient and economical sale for customers.

From the perspective of marketing, HP gains a large success in both sides of partnership and specified targeting market. I believe that HP has chosen a wise chance to buy Samsung’s printer business and this brings a flexible innovation and a stable business partner. The specified company section increases its ability to flexibly target markets and respond to customer’s demand.
