When employee meets frustration in work, they become anxious and diffident. These emotions affect their performance in work as they express their feeling. This brings inefficiency to the organization and might contagious other workers. But I don’t understand how do the organization deals with the negative emotion? After doing the movie proposal of the case study, I watched “Office Space” of our group. It tells a story that the main character Peter is fed up with the dull office work and he also meets some frustration with his daily life. Everyday when he goes to the office, he brings negative emotion toward the colleagues.

Finding information about emotions, I’ve noticed that the negative emotions of employees which effects the efficiency of the organization can be called employee deviance. Moreover, the employee himself can regulate his personal emotion which minimize the negative effect. By this, it means that the employee can first separate his personal thinking with the feeling which ensures that depression doesn’t effect the correct thoughts. Then he should make right judgment and constraint the negative feeling. If it doesn’t work, then the employee is supposed to keep himself away from the interpersonal communication.

I believe that the personal emotion is contagious, especially for negative emotions. If any worker acts depressively, he/she keeps sighing during work which seriously effect other’s mood. The entire office loses vitality and this consequence leads to ineffectiveness and might also induces other workers to be depressive. But overall, the negative emotion provides benefits in another aspect since managers can think more critically. For example, the manager can attach importance to him which makes him feel special. Then after he passed this current stage, he might be motivated and brings progress to the organization.

In conclusion, in an organization, the negative emotion of one person may lead to a chain effect. Stand on the position of the employee, he should control himself and recognize the effects he might bring to the organization. In contrast, manager can use this chance to think fairly and unite the organization.
