What is Content Marketing?

Content Marketing is the planning, design, development, execution, sharing, promotion and optimisation of content that’s developed to acquire new customers, keep current customers, and increase the value of current customer relationships.

It requires an understanding of who your audience is, what methodologies are communicated, discovering where the audience is, knowing what their intent is, and producing the appropriate series and types of content for those prospects or customers to consume. It also includes the sharing and promotion methods you’ll use to reach them. It requires both momentum and direction so you can guide the audience through the purchasing, retention or upsell process.

Difference between Marketing and Advertising

  •  Advertising is putting bait on the hook and dropping it in the water, hoping the fish will bite.
  • Marketing is the process of finding the fish, analysing when they bite, what they bite on, and how long before they bite.
