On Oct 29th, UBC Okanagan held our annual Major Entrance Scholars Reception at the Ballroom. This year, over 85 students, staff and faculty members were able to make it out to this special event. Attendees of this event Fincluded current Major Entrance Scholar Award recipients, Major Entrance Scholar Award alumni, faculty and staff representatives from various departments on campus.

This year, we were very fortunate to have Dr. Martha C. Piper, President and Vice-Chancellor to be one of our speakers. Moreover, Dr. Deborah Buszard, DVC and Principal, Marlie Russell, 1st year Major Entrance Scholarship recipient, and Alex Cloherty, upper year Major Entrance Scholarship recipient also gave some very inspiring speeches. Many award recipients and alumni had the opportunity to mingle and develop some lasting mentor relationships.

This event was indeed a great turn out!
