Herz Ring: Analyst Market on Wearable Tech

Posted in (A1) Analyst Report

As an educator who teaches about health, body systems, and human fitness, I always include a unit where students track activity, body systems, and the impact their choices will have on them. Therefore, I propose using a ring fitness tracker in AP Health and Wellness classes. Wearable tech has become increasingly popular in the market and appealing to the general consumer, as seen with the introduction of the Apple Watch and now with Ring fitness trackers. To assess the different options available on the market, 3 main competitors will be examined: Herz, Oura, and RingConn.

    Hi Emily,

I thought you chose a very suitable technology as a focus for your analysis after you explained your profession in your presentation. I think a strong point in your analysis was the cost factor. If a school is going to foot the bill for this technology, it should ideally be affordable, easy to use, and meet curriculum learning objectives as Hertz seems to do. It was interesting to see its many uses in tracking body functions and how the app can also provide a summative report of the class’s results that you pointed out can be used for learning purposes. I agree that this kind of technology is a game changer (and not just a gimmick or time-eater) for students to do hands-on learning in real time with information that relates personally to them. I would consider investing in this product because of the capabilities you illustrated, which are comparable in strength to more expensive competitors. Good job, Emily!
