Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Digital Mapping

In today’s class we will be discussing the ways in which GIS and digital maps are being deployed in Indigenous studies research projects. The lecture and workshop will be led by Alex Shields, PhD Candidate in Indigenous Literature at Simon Fraser University. Alix will also be introducing us to Juxta, “an open-source tool for comparing and collating multiple witnesses to a single textual work.”
