TECHNICAL PROJECTS

  • Non-Binary Visual Novel – Unity Game (Personal)
    • For personal development, I am building a text-based fiction game loosely inspired by the Indie game Coming Out Simulator by Nicki Case. This semi-autobiographical game is principally constructed with the Unity Game Engine and C# code. The premise is meant to give the player a sense of the challenges people with non-binary gender identities encounter.
  • RockPaperScramble – React Web App (Academic)
    • In this ongoing project, I am building a game similar to Slither.io and Agar.io. Using React, Redux, and Nodejs, I am building an open arena, multiplayer, circle-eats-circle game based on the mechanics of rock paper scissors. CSS styling elements and JavaScript were used in this project.
  • Buses’R’Us – Android Application (Academic)
    • For this project, I completed an application that maps the location of stops, buses and bus routes on the Greater Vancouver Transit system (Translink) and retrieves real time arrival information at those stops. It also plots the user’s location on the map and highlights the nearest bus stop using the Translink OpenAPI.
  • Urban Flow – Java Swing Application (Personal)
    • In the context of the Girls in Tech Hack for Humanity hackathon, we built an application centered on facilitating the donations of menstrual cups to shelters on the downtown East side. I came up with the initial concept, developed the code for a shelter class, helped with the front-end of the program and presented the finalized project to the judges. We earned the popular vote prize.
  • Tamagotchi – Racket Game (Academic)
    • Based on the popularized 90’s Tamagotchi toy, I built a program that features a creature with a hunger counter that increases with the passing of time. The user can move the creature around and feed the creature. If the user lets too much time pass, the creature will starve and the program will end.
