Welcome to the e-mentoring support for Indigenous education in the Department of Teacher Education at UBC!
This blog will serve as our “home” for all e-mentoring for the 2017-2018 year. We will also create a Twitter presence to facilitate discussion on bringing Indigenous perspectives, histories, worldviews and knowledges into the classroom.
Our first Twitter session (using the hashtag: #IndigenousEdUBC) will take place on Monday, October 31st at 7pm (PST). This will serve as our platform as educators to discuss bringing Indigenous perspectives across all grade levels and curricula in BC. What does it look like to bring Indigenous knowledges into the classroom? What are the challenges and how can we negotiate these challenges? What are the benefits and objectives of Indigenous-specific curricula?
Looking forward to our introduction session tomorrow on Wednesday, October 25th!
