Skype partners with Facebook. Is this the start of a new social networking era?

Skype recently partnered with Facebook allowing the Facebook news feed to be visible in Skype, and Skype capabilities will become available on Facebook. Gap recently launched a new logo to replace their traditional, well recognized logo. Now the only thing that comes to mind is why? When I think of Gap their traditional logo pops to mind along with their blue and white store layout. In addition, the logo, to me at least, symbolized both the simplicity but still class of their product lines.The new logo, pictured to the right, no offense, looks like a cheap logo created in a computer program such as powerpoint. I am so sorry! Really, I am! I knew that my CO2 consumption level would be higher than the average consumption level for my comm 101 course, however, I really did not think it would be this bad. Volvo – going green!

Volvo is taking a step in the right direction by not only focusing on how their cars will leave a smaller carbon footprint, but more importanly Volvo has decided to focus on how they will reduce each of their employee’s carbon footprints. I believe that the use of MIS technology to minimize air travel and then marketing it to the public as your contribution to a greener planet is a fantastic idea, and a great separating point within the automobile industry. West Jet – a change in brand positioning?

In a recent Globe and Mail report, it was revealed that West Jet has a plan to move away from their business model in hopes of competing with Air Canada on a North America wide spectrum became magnified by the hiring of a new CEO Gregg Saretsky. Air Canada claims Porter Airlines has a monopolistic advantage at Island Airport

In this past weekends report the Globe and Mail is reporting that Air Canada has filed a lawsuit claiming that Porter Airlines as an unfair competitive advantage at the Island Airport because Porter currently holds all of the departure and arrival slots. Air Canada has lost a fair number of their business clientele to Porter simply because it is more convenient to fly out from the Island airport rather than from Toronto Pearson airport. First Toyota and now Honda goes public with a recall, but somewhat under the radar

The Globe and Mail reports that along with a further Toyota recall, Honda has now recalled many of their popular models, such as the Honda Fit, due to faulty airbags.
