Ethical Dilemma’s in Business

In my opinion consumers are one of the most important stakeholders of a business. The business runs for them, by them, with them AND cause of them. This brought my attention to the wide range of products that businesses claim to have ‘not tested’ on animals.

The ‘not tested’ is in quotations because of a recent article that I came upon. It highlighted on how certain countries require firms to test their products by law (such as China) on animals before they can be made available to public. This led to many firms being allegedly caught lying to their consumers that their products were not tested on animals, but in reality actually were. From this the ethical dilemma is clearly presented; were the actions of these firms ‘justified’ (since it was required by law and they would supposedly want to maintain their brand image of not testing on animals)? And from whose point of view are we pursuing this dilemma?
