Nov. 19: What, So What, What Now

Phew! Apologies for missing a blog post (I think), but it’s been a hectic few weeks. Here’s the rundown:

  • The toolkit is all done! Sort of.
  • We successfully presented the toolkit to a crowd at the food demonstration even held by our lovely friends in Teams 14 and 15.
  • Research/data analysis has resumed!
  • We’ll be presenting on our results next week with a report done the week after that.
  • Team Adorable Cat Photos is all kinds of exhausted, but ready to finish this up.

More info after the jump:

Last time we left off, Team 17 (Adorable Cat Photos) was desperately scrambling to finish the toolkit while swamped with assignments and battling university fatigue.

This week, Team 17 (Adorable Cat Photos) desperately scrambles to finish their research and present it to a crowd while… not swamped with assignments and battling university fatigue. Life’s great.

We rallied together through the power of friendship and managed to produce both a pamphlet and a toolkit for the sort-of-potluck event, as well as 5 of our lovely faces for our table.

It went wonderfully, with over 25 people attending and at least 7 of them weren’t from LFS! We expertly chatted up helpless strangers, disseminated subversive gardening literature, and enjoyed lovely salad and soup prepared by our fellow LFS students. Photos will be forthcoming.

Using our incredible abilities of discretion and subtlety, we also managed to get some data regarding people’s intentions with their proposed Herb Gardens, their expectations, and other crucial nuggets of research gold.

So where are we going from here? Well…

With about a week to go, we’ve held several discussion sections about what we’ve discovered and what it means. Data collection is pretty much over, so we’re consolidating everything into one big document.

We’re going to finish a lovely presentation about our work (and by finish I mean start), then make a report about it as well.

We still haven’t made the signs for the existing Herb Garden at 1078 Burnaby, so that’s going to happen soon.

And on top of all of that, I suppose we’ll cram in a bit of time for exam studying and life. So: Optimism! Big things are happening right now. All at once. Right after the last big thing.
