THE THEME
This semester’s theme ‘From Conversation to Change’ is at once, both an acknowledgement and an invitation. It is an acknowledgement of the importance of engaging in collaborative dialogue toward sustainable change, and an invitation to move beyond conversation. How do we bridge dialogue and action? How do we motivate our communities to turn ideas into impact? This conference will explore these questions and more.

IHI UBC presents Spring QuIPs Change Agent Workshop Series – Mar 19, 2016

For the coming Spring QuIPs conference on March 19, IHI UBC is excited to be working in collaboration with the BC Patient Safety & Quality Council to bring you the “Change Agent Workshop Series”. All students in professional health disciplines will receive 25 Exposure Level Interprofessional Education (IPE) points for attending the full day and partial points for those that will be joining us for a part of our workshop.

For students who have always wanted to learn how to step out of their comfort zone to become a leader, how do you make that transition from a participant to taking on a leadership role? As a leader, how can you lead differently to shift the mindset of leadership to effectively engage your team to harness individual collective energy? For those entering the professional workplace, what are the relevant skills you need in tackling the barriers you may encounter?

As the future leaders of tomorrow, let’s start planting the necessary seeds to develop effective communication strategies and to build relationships that stress the importance of collaborative input in initiating change.

This will be an exciting and engaging opportunity for students interested in mobilizing to improve quality of care as well as learning the skills to become an effective change agent to do it. Free admission and lunch/refreshments will be provided.
