BIO

Hello everyone, my name is Luke Jang and I am currently in the Faculty of Forestry, specializing in Wood Products Processing. Even though I am majoring in Forestry, I am unfortunately no longer pursuing a career in Forestry due to a severe tree allergy that I’m suffering from. I am only 4 courses away from obtaining my degree and upon completion, I will be pursuing a career in the law enforcement sector as a police officer. As a police officer, writing and documenting skills are extremely important so I decided that I wanted to take a Technical Writing course as my last university elective course. Despite the fact that I am no longer pursuing a Forestry career, I am still genuinely interested in wood products and I love the forests around the world. Even though I will not be able to take a career in Forestry, carpentry will always remain as my hobby and one day, I will learn to make my own guitars and play them. Currently, I am working as a part-time healthcare security to gain relevant skills for the policing career and I possess certificates in First Aid and aggression management. One of the most important things that I need to do on a daily basis as a healthcare security is to make incident reports. Incident reports are supposed to contain time of incidents and every detail of what occurred during incidents. As I write these incident reports, sometimes I do feel like I lack skills in writing especially when there are lots of detail to include in the reports. Hopefully through this course ENGL 301, I can learn a lot and improve my writing skills so that I can be a better report writer in the future. I am excited to be starting the course. Thank you for reading.
