HIT the slopes
First weekend back to school is infamously know for it’s ski trips and this year is no exception. It’s obviously time to hit the slopes and shred some powder. Except…ohhh maybe, I’ve never snowboard before in my life. This promises to be a tres interesting weekend filled with plenty of falls, sore butts and aching bones.
Because I’m heading out to Silver Star Mountain Resort with all the wonderful people from SSA (Singapore Student Association). I failed to do my research back in October as I assumed Silver Star would be somewhere by Whistler-ish. Big Joke. Turns out, it’s over 8-ish hours away from UBC by Vernon. H#S7%^*VSS WHAAAAAT??? I’m gonna be spending more time on the bus than on the slopes. Stay positive. I’m sure the bus ride will be fun. As the quote goes, “Sometimes the journey is more rewarding then the destination.”
A little preview of my weekend:

So any tips for me?

I feel you should know that snowboarding imo is much harder then skiing at first. I was so frustrated when I first got into it, the worst part is probably getting off the life. But just work at it, take it in easy strides, and you’ll be shredding in no time 🙂

GRAVOL! (or is it called gravel?) That medicine that keeps you from getting car sick. If not for you then for someone else on the bus… someone was always sick on the rides to Whistler when I went.
