Blog Post 3

The team is taking a pro-active approach in trying to come up with ideas for the project. Although we have not yet been able to meet with our client, the team members have already started preparing for the eventual meeting by thinking of questions for the project.

We are planning to meet with our mentor Hamid after the reading break and also meet with the client to discuss the project and get discuss the progress so far. We plan to put in a significant amount of time for the project as we realize that we are behind most groups. We plan to brainstorm, discuss and choose what we think is the best option to go forward with the project and start as soon as we have more information on the project.

Company Background

Modo Transportation is a not-for-profit co-operative started in 1997. The company strives to promote the benefits of carsharing and fosters carsharing.

Purpose

Modo Transportation believes in environmental, social and economic justice. This local company highly encourages carsharing in Metro Vancouver.

With Modo, individuals could have all the benefits of owning a car without having to worry about insurance or maintenance payments or any car-related hassles.

Last but not least, with fewer cars on the road, Modo helps reduce the greenhouse gas emissions and reduces the traffic in our city.

Vision Statement

“We envision vibrant communities created through sustainable transportation.”

– Modo Transportation.

Goals

“Our goal is to turn car owners into carsharers. We want to see a Modo car on every corner, and a community on every street!”

– Modo Transportation.

Our group are in the early planning stages of the project and had originally scheduled a meeting with a Modo Transportation representative to meet up this week. Unfortunately, some problems have occurred and the meeting is yet to take place.

We have not been able to meet with the client yet to discuss about the project scopes, constraints etc. Hopefully, we will get in contact with them soon and keep the project on schedule.

Thanks!
