About Us

NetworkEd is a project devoted to helping UBC students learn how to use web tools for academic, personal and professional success.

The project includes 1) the NetworkEd blog, and 2) instructional workshops that teach students how to use web tools for time management and collaborative group work. These workshops are generally held in the Chapman Learning Commons in the Irving K. Barber Learning Centre.

The NetworkEd team is comprised of volunteers from UBC’s School of Library, Archival and Information Studies. We work in cooperation with the Chapman Learning Commons, and we draw our inspiration from a similar project undertaken several years ago called This Is Your Life 2.0.

This Is Your Life 2.0 was a part of the Digital Media Project, co-sponsored by the UBC School of Library, Archival and Information Studies and the Irving K. Barber Learning Centre with a grant from the TLEF. The Digital Media Project was developed by 4 Digital Media Interns (Adrienne, Maureen, Tania and Xuemei) with the aim to deliver the most relevant aspects of the Web 2.0 experience to UBC students, and to help them succeed in their academic and professional lives.

NetworkEd picks up where This Is Your Life 2.0 left off! Please contact us with any questions or to request any topics for our blog or workshops!
