Earning a BA in History fulfilled what may be considered an academic ‘inquiry’ I made with wanting to understand more about the context in which 19th century authors produced canonical texts. I also rediscovered my elementary school interest in the ancient world. From this I got into historical archaeology, as well as writing for the fine and performing arts. Political Studies and theory remained a passion throughout in the pursuit of understanding how we ought to live.
At the finish of my undergrad, historiography, post-structuralism and the ‘deconstructed master narrative’ or ‘reconstructed narrative’ brought together my interests in humanities and became a subject specialization in secondary social studies, while I found myself shifting back into how the creation of contemporary texts informs the present critique of the Canadian establishment and dialogues with historiography.
