What is LOCR?

UBC Library Online Course Reserves (LOCR) is a service that enables instructors to create and manage a centralized list of reserve materials for students.

With LOCR, you can:

• Add articles, books, web links, and media resources
• Request materials through the Library’s Syllabus Service
• Request Library-created PDFs of book chapters, or upload your own
• Provide students with a secure, course-specific link to materials
• Quickly reuse and reactivate readings in future terms

How to Set Up LOCR for Your Course

To get started with LOCR:

1. Set the availability of your course reserves
2. Add LOCR to your course materials (e.g., in Canvas)
3. Submit requests for course reserves
4. Share access with students

Accessing and Sharing Course Materials

Once your course materials have been processed by the Library:

• All items will be compiled into a single, organized list in LOCR
