I sort of prefer red bull myself but Coffee is Coffee. The ability to do stupid things faster is always important in the life of a college student. Such as the best 8 am classes in the world every Tuesday and Thursday (insert shameless plead here). My fellow colleague Wasseem  Abdoolatiff has discussed the effect of a world without coffee.

No Coffee in the world, what about the market what would happen. Don’t worry we have Red Bull! Nope! its all caffeine. the good “stuff” as the adolescent population would say. So what is exactly happening in this situation. Brazil the worlds largest Coffee producing country is going to face problems in the production of Coffee and due to this it is going to affect the international coffee market.  As this is the major supplier.

Wassem’s views on the incident as a coffee lover shows how this may affect the global market. Due to such a predicted drop in supply it can be said so that market prices for this commodity can rise and lead to market disequilibrium.

This being said I agree with the view points that he has taken in his blog-post as it depicts what could happen to a market if such a thing were to happen and this can evaluate the current situation of the market.

My colleague Gerald Lee has brought up the article that Fiber Optics are becoming the next generation of internet connectivity. As the internet becomes more and more important in our lives, it is almost quintessential for us to have high speed internet connections so that we can access our favorite cat videos without delay.

As per Gerald’s post it is noticed that he portrays, that by this additional $1 billion that Telus pays the company will, achieve higher rewards and attain higher market share in the Canadian market. I agree with this line as it can be said so that a universally accepted fact that all human beings love fast internet. As earth is the only planet known to us with WiFi, might as well have the fastest internet possible. Because in Canada we should be given the privilege of having fast internet so that we can watch every cat video without having to wait for even a second.

But with this I would like to say that I agree with Gerald’s post and can tell that his views are somewhat correct, as his analysis proves that people would be more interested to take on Telus as their ISP due to their great internet speeds.

Marketing these days has evolved greatly from its origins. As it is no more, the norm of having huge billboards and ads in the news paper to show their brand new crazy project. These days marketing has evolved and broadened into the fields of e-commerce. This is further described by Pat Flynn. Who has researched and noticed a few key techniques in which companies can create methods in which they can promote such marketing strategies.

These tools that Pat Flyn has generalized are common tools for businesses to follow, If they plan on using an e-commerce business model. With these tools Pat has predicted that the business would grow. The tools are:

These tools are helpful in a business guaranteed. However, as a student of business, these tools cannot be told as a definitive way to conduct an e-commerce marketing model. As they will only go so far. Due to this I feel that Pat Flynn, has not justified the core concepts of marketing at this stage. This has lead me to critique his work as a blog and say so taht his tools are effective in a general basis, however, they do not seem to pose long term viability. As they mostly are eye candy and not really engage the customer in the product.

The time has come for the modern age to accept the new generations preferences. And these preferences have every right to move into the workplace of the business. NVIDIA, the company that own the highest markets share in graphical processor manufacturing,  has scored a perfect score in the Corporate Equality Index.  This goes in terms as the companies brand image can improve greatly due to this.

Also by promoting a workplace environment that has scored a perfect score on a test that discusses the fact about a workplace environment, it can be said so that the company can attract more potential workforce to join the company and grow as a business.

Due to this several communities can potentially associate themselves with the company  which to an extent promotes the companies brand image and also shows the ethical side of the business. This can be referred back to the companies Corporate social responsibility and be portrayed in a way that promotes the great hearths that the Goliath processor manufacturing company posses.

This is the first step for companies that they can take as certain members of society would feel uncomfortable working in an environment. By showing statistics like this the LGBT community would feel more comfortable working in certain companies.

Johnnie u better keep walking!

The age old reason as to why Scotland has not yet been destroyed by the world is right in front of us. Scotch, one of its greatest inventions and makes some of the exquisite cocktails. (not that i have had any). But lets look at Johnnie Walker for a second, they pioneered the signature tag line Keep Walking. This was their marketing technique and style they used to further their brand image and market reception.

However as of recent, they have added some a phrase right before their signature. “Joy will take you further”. This is the largest marketing campaign in the history of the campaign launching in 50 countries simultaneously.  By reading the comments of the article it is noticed that the public reception of the product has increased and the market segment has widened in this field.

They did not stop at the point at which they launched their marketing campaign in 50 countries, they adopted an e-commerce model in which they broadcast, their advertisement appealing to an international audience and different generations causing a market development for their product.

This is honestly a different approach Johnnie Walker is taking and it is interesting viewing their new campaign, it portrays the very point of consuming alcohol, to unwind and keep walking.
