The differences of cngenital talents between children and adults decide the divergence of their English learning methods. As for children, their memory is much better than adults’; therefore, they can remember more words and use less energy in a limited time than adults. According an experiment made by Tsinghua university, children can remember 30 words per 10 mins on average, which is twice than adults’. Despite this, adults still have their own adventages to learn English, because their abilities of practice are higher than children. For example, they know how to use the words appropriately and they always try to find chances to use them. Therefore, although they can only remember 1/2 words of children’s in a limited time, they can remember them efficiently. All in all, good memory and excellent practical ability are the major differences of them to learn English.
Interesting statistic on memory for words! I like that you remained positive for an adult’s capability when it comes to remembering words! We will just have to make more of an effort to use new words in our every-day practice!
