Fiona And The Crabs

So the bad news is that the hostel pool is empty.

The good news is that there are all these sea-fed pools cut into the limestone right at the water’s edge.

Eels and jellyfish be darned, Fiona decided she was going to go swimming. This is what the swimming holes look like:

These little brown speckled sand crabs really like to lurk in holes in the limestone. They’re territorial, so if you get too close, they come scuttling out. Fiona does not like this. What she does like is sitting on the very edge of a rock and leaning way out over the water to see all the fish. One of these days, I’m going to sneak up behind her when she’s defying gravity in this way and shout “Crab!”
