For some reason, timetables are a top secret at Cardiff University. Class times aren’t listed in the course catalogue, they aren’t posted online, and while STEM students have an app which spontaneously generates their schedule as soon as they register for classes, humanities students do not. In fact, my Welsh professor didn’t know what time Welsh Culture & Mythology was going to be until last night, when she sent us an email. Naturally, Welsh Culture & Mythology took out Iron Age Britain and knocked a new hole in my schedule.
I still haven’t figured out how to register for Creative Writing: Microfiction or where to find the day of the week for The World of Cleopatra. And knowing my luck, those will be on Monday at 3:10 and Thursday at noon, just the right times to take out Welsh Culture & Mythology and Modern Welsh Literature.
If by some miracle a fellow UBC student has found their way onto my blog and is considering studying at Cardiff, here is my advice: On registration day, have a bajillion backup classes written down so you can do it right the first time. Yes, technically you can still add or drop courses for two weeks after the semester starts, but that’s assuming you can figure out how.
Here. Have an unrelated castle picture.
