As Mom and Dad can attest, getting me to drink milk has been a lifelong struggle.
But I have found a liquid nemesis viler than milk, and that is the water in Aberdare. First, it tastes funny, and second, it comes in two temperatures: tea and tepid.
So I bought a pint of milk for my Weetabix last week. I figured it would last me a few days. I got as far as my room before I drank it straight out of the carton in one sitting because, miracle of miracles, it was liquid that was actually cold.
So I bought a quart of milk the next day. I figured that, at least, would be enough for a few days of Weetabix and coffee. I drank it straight out of the carton in one sitting that night.
So I bought a liter of milk. I figured there’d be no more sprints to the co-op in my immediate future. Then I drank the entire thing over dinner.
So yesterday, I bought a whole gallon of milk. I was like, okay, this will last me at least till the weekend. Then I drank half of it straight out of the carton, dipped my cookie in a cup of it, had my Weetabix with another cup of it, put some in my tea this morning, and drank the rest for dinner tonight.
Do they make barrels of milk?
