Where is Belarus? Ooh, Chocolate

My eyes may be bigger than my stomach, but my wallet luckily is not.

While taking out my garbage this morning, my nose lured me into the Music Library (the one that shares a building with Aberdare), which was having a cake sale to benefit Belarusian children. Regardless of the fact that I would not be able to tell you what continent Belarus is on, I immediately started excavating my pockets for coins.

I have no idea who provided the baked goods, but the librarian’s table was spread with everything from beautiful professionally-frosted cupcakes to crumbly scones to definitely homemade biscuits to brownies that probably came out of the British equivalent of a Betty Crocker box.

Everything on the table was fifty pence. Luckily I only had a two-pound coin on me, which set a reasonable limit on the number of cakes I could eat for breakfast.
