Hi, I am Zhe Su. I was born and raised in Chengdu, China, a city located in the western parts of the country. There are two things from Chengdu that are famous in the world: pandas and hotpot; both are well loved for different reasons. There is a large park in Chengdu where pandas live in. Visitors can view all kinds of panda in the park, baby ones, young ones, and mature pandas. It is one of my favorite places in the city as the pandas are very cute. In Chengdu, we prefer our hotpot to be very spicy and flavorful.

Currently, I am a typical international student in UBC. As I am a bit shy, I may not be overly active on the blog and in class, although I am hoping that I can come out of my bubble some day and communicate more with my classmates. A

I feel that due to the COVID-19, there are some misunderstandings from the Western world on China. I would like to clear up these misunderstandings created by the misleading image portrayed of China by the media for the purpose of raising their viewership and bridge this cultural and political gap between the two countries. I also think it is important for us as humans to stay united in face of the pandemic in order to strive as a specie.
