Organization Summary: Actsafe is a not-for-profit health and safety association supporting British Columbia’s arts and entertainment industries. Its mission is to make British Columbia the safest place in the world for the production of motion pictures, television, live events and performing arts by providing trusted and reliable occupational health and safety education, training and resources to the employers, supervisors and workers we serve – in order to prevent and eliminate occupational disease, injuries, and illness.
Position Summary: Reporting to the CEO, the Manager, Marketing & Communications is seen as the Actsafe team’s “industry engager” and has primary oversight of the organization’s marketing and communications
effectiveness. This role ensures the attraction and retention of existing BC’s arts & entertainment employer & worker customers and increases their participation rate in Actsafe’s health, safety and wellbeing programs. They lead initiatives that raise awareness and recognition of Actsafe as a leading source of industry-specific OHS programs and connect the target audience with relevant offerings. This role builds and nurtures effective relationships with industry partners, collaborates on mutually beneficial initiatives and leverages these strategic relationships to enhance participation in Actsafe’s services. This position provides guidance to the management team and contributes to strategic analysis, business planning, and performance measurement. The Manager, Marketing & Communications oversees the functional areas supported by the
Marketing & Communications Coordinator and ensures strategic thinking is applied to initiatives, designs plans, and provides leadership in ensuring effective implementation of the tactics and activities.
This is a hybrid role, but candidates must be based in British Columbia.
