Evaluation Specialist, Population & Public Health

The Evaluation Specialist, Population & Public Health reports to the Medical Director, Population & Public Health and is responsible for the evaluation of program design and delivery of Population and Public Health (PPH) initiatives, programs, and services. The role provides subject matter expertise when reviewing and assessing the impact of PPH programs and services and presents evidence-based recommendations to Program Leaders, BCCDC and PHSA Senior Leaders, BC health authorities, BC Ministries and/or other provincial partners to optimize BCCDC PPH program and service delivery.
Ensuring projects and policies have a quality- and equity-lens applied, are inclusive of Indigenous perspectives and incorporate anti-racist and decolonizing principles, the Evaluation Specialist employs research methods for the identification, collection, analysis, and interpretation of outcome measures and carries out reviews of related research, and links evidence to the evaluation process. To build evaluation capacity among the PPH team and other BCCDC service lines, the role guides and supports staff to utilize best practice in evaluating programs across the service line as an expert in population health evaluation.
